FIRST BLOG ENTRY

1."The body of all written works" i chose this because literature is like a combination of all writings.



For me literature is like a cellphone. Cellphone has a many brands, If you want to be notice by people you need to have a unique feature. Like in literature if you want to be notice you need to be unique..

a. ) Francisco Baltazar was born on April 2, 1788 in Barrio Panginay, Bigaa, Bulacan. His parents were Juana dela Cruz and Juan Baltazar. He was baptized in a chapel in Bigaa, Bulacan. He studied in a parochial school in Bigaa. Francisco later worked as houseboy for the Trinidad family in Tondo, Manila.

CONTRIBUTION:

Florante at Laura- Master piece of Francisco Balagtas

Francisco entitled as the "Ama ng Balagtasan".

Other great Tagalog writers like Julian Cruz Balmaceda and Hermenegildo Cruz called him “Hari ng Makatang Tagalog

b.)Bienvenido L. Lumbera was born on April 11, 1932. He spent most of his youth in Batangas until he entered the University of Santo Tomas in 1950 to pursue a degree in journalism. He completed his M.A. and then his Ph.D. in Comparative Literature at Indiana University in 1967. Lumbera writes in English and Filipino, and has produced works in both languages.

CONTRIBUTION:

Likhang Dila, Likhang Diwa

ACHIEVEMENTS:
he received the Ramon Magsaysay award for Journalism, Literature, and Creative Communication. He was also awarded many literary awards, including the National Book Awards and the Carlos Palanca Memorial Award.

c.) Jose Rizal was born in Calamba, Laguna on June 19, 1861.

Full name: José Protasio Rizal Mercado y Alonso Realonda

Parents: Francisco Engracio Rizal Mercado y Alejandra II
Teodora Alonso y Quintos

CONTRIBUTION:

Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo

Jose Rizal entitled as the "National hero of the Philippines"

i think Jose Rizal influenced Nick Joaquin on being a writer. ( I'm not sure ^_^ )
